The flocks section is situated in the lower left-hand frame. It consists of a directory structure that holds all the flocks that have been defined. As in the inputs section, flocks can be placed into sub-folders, and dragged between flock folders. Right-clicking on a flock shows a pop-up menu with the functions (such as New, Delete) that may be performed to set up a flock.
To define a flock, at least one item of each type must be dragged from the inputs section to the flock.
Note that BM Feeds and Revenues cannot be dragged to the flock section. Suitable entries for these categories are automatically transferred between directories when Feeding schedules and Cropping Schedules are dragged.
When an item in this window is clicked, its detailed information is displayed in the main section on the right. If the current item is a folder, then details for all the items in that folder are displayed for comparison.
As the items in a flock are shortcuts to those in inputs, they may be edited from either the inputs or experiments directory structure, as there is only one copy of each item in existence.
Certain items (breeds, economics and management) allow the definition of multiple values for a variable once they have been added to a flock. Each of these variables has a white cell in the details table and a button appears to its right when it is selected. Clicking on this button opens a form that allows multiple values to be set.
