Cropping schedule
The model allows partial cropping of birds at a specified day or weight. Clicking the Add button will add a new crop before the current row. The Delete button deletes the current row.
For each crop, specify the time at which the cropping is to take place by choosing either day or weight from the first column, and then giving the corresponding value in the second column.
Note that if a weight is given, then the program will crop on the day on which the average of the male and female live weights, weighted by the percentage males in the crop, has reached the given cropping weight.
Specify the size of the crop as either a percentage of the flock or a number of birds by choosing % of flock or number of birds from the third column. The percentage male to be cropped is selected from the list in column five. A value of As Is means that the proportion of males to females in the crop is to be the same as that in the flock at the time of cropping. The last column holds a list of all the revenues that had been previously created. Select the one to be used to calculate the revenue for the crop.
A cropping schedule must have at least one crop, so the last row cannot be deleted. The final crop must apply to all the remaining birds, so this is automatically set to 100% of the flock, with % males as As Is.
The cropping schedule controls the length of the simulation.
Therefore, if more than one cropping schedule is added to a flock, it is possible that the treatments in the flock will not all run for the same number of days.
If the final cropping age differs from the male or female mortality days given in the management item, then a warning will be shown at the end of the simulation.
