Amino acid requirements
The available amino acid requirements of the broiler are calculated in the simulation model as a function of the amount required for the maintenance and growth of the feather and the non-feather components of the body, corrected for any constraints on growth in the current simulation. These are displayed as the requirement in mg per day, and as a percentage of the food consumed, assuming an ME content the same as that in the feeds used in the simulation. The requirements can thus be calculated for any dietary energy concentration by running a simulation with the desired concentration in the feeds offered.
The requirements are shown in a table under the Results (/bird) and Amino acid requirements (/bird) tabs when a solution is selected. The amino acids listed are lysine, methionine, cysteine, methionine plus cysteine (TSAA), tryptophan, isoleucine, histidine, arginine, threonine, phenylalanine + tyrosine, leucine and valine.
