Economics
An economics item allows the editing of various details that will affect the economic calculations made during and after the simulation.
Down time (days)
The total number of days between production batches. This is used only in calculations of profit margin per unit time.
Fixed costs
The costs incurred, in units of currency per unit floor area per annum, whether or not broilers are being reared in the houses.
Variable costs
These costs, in currency units per bird per cycle, are incurred as a result of having broilers on the farm. All of the costs listed, other than processing costs, are calculated according to the number of birds at the start of each simulation. The processing cost is only applicable to those birds alive at the end of the simulation process (i.e. excluding mortality).
