Daily Blend %

This feature enables the user to evaluate a feeding programme that changes on a daily basis rather than having a number of feeds each being fed for a fixed time, or until a given amount has been consumed. This is based on the concept of blending two feeds over the growing period so that there is a seamless change in the composition of the feed presented to match the changing requirements. Since it is the requirement for protein that really changes in the growing period, all other nutrients, and energy, should remain relatively constant, so two feeds differing only in the protein content could be fed simultaneously, but with the proportions changing each day. This feed blending option gives the user the ability to simulate such a feeding practice.

Selecting Daily Blend %, as shown in the first screenshot, will open the below window where any two feeds can be blended, specifying the rate of change in the blending proportions. A broiler starter and post-finisher could be blended, for example, or a starter vs. wheat, maize or sorghum.
