Formulation
Brief background to feed formulating
Formulating feed from only three ingredients can be illustrated using the example of a laying hen that needs exactly 18g protein and 1.3JM energy each day.
Client Feeds
Client feeds contain nutrients expressions, amino acid ratios, additional ingredient constraints, and learn to interpret the colours of calculated values.
Formulating a Feed with WinFeed
WinFeed, specially designed for nutritionists, ingredient suppliers, farmers and researchers, stores unlimited animals, clients, nutrients, ingredients or feeds.
Sensitivity values, marginal costs and included prices
A very useful WinFeed feature is that it assists nutritionists to determine additional information relating to ingredients not included in the formulation.
Parametrics
A range of nutrient or ingredient contents is specified in the Parametrics option where the cost of each of the resultant feeds is displayed in graphic form.
Formulating with weight constraint <> 1
A special WinFeed feature allows users to change the nutrient density from that in the original feed without altering any essential nutrient concentrations.
Formulating using Dry Matter
When formulating on a dry matter basis the weight in the Feed mass (kg) field is the dry matter feed weight.
Rounding and Animal Feed Calculations
After formulating a feed it is possible to round the ingredients using the additional Manipulate Ingredients feature in WinFeed.
