Potential growth data
Details of the potential growth of the broiler are calculated at the same time as the actual growth is simulated. For this calculation it is assumed that there are no limitations to growth except those imposed by the genotype and adjustments to the Growth constraint and Husbandry (see Husbandry Regime) factors. As with actual growth data, output is displayed in a number of tables.
Growth data
The potential growth rate, food intake and food conversion are given for the chosen genotype.
Portions, %
This table displays the proportions of the different physical components of the body that would be achieved under non-limiting conditions.
Portions, wt
This table displays the weights of the different physical components of the body that would be achieved under non-limiting conditions.
Heat Factors
This table displays factors pertaining to the heat balance in the bird. The information given represents the expected ME intake, heat production, energy retention and energy conversion in a bird growing at its potential.
Also given is the comfort temperature. This is the temperature that would allow the bird to grow at its potential assuming a perfectly balanced feed. The comfort temperature is calculated from the upper and the lower critical environmental temperatures, which are a function of the heat produced by the broiler during growth.
Body Chemistry, wt
This table displays the weights of the different chemical components of the body that would be achieved under non-limiting conditions.
Body Chemistry, %
This table displays the proportions of the different chemical components of the body that would be achieved under non-limiting conditions.
Body Chemistry growth
The growth rate (g/d) of the different chemical components of the body that would be achieved under non-limiting conditions.
